Greta Thunberg is a Swedish climate activist who became internationally known for campaigning against climate change and demanding stronger action from governments.

Why isn't she verified on TikTok?

Greta Thunberg has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize multiple times:

TikTok says verification is not automatic just because someone is famous. It says it considers factors such as whether the account is "authentic, unique, active, notable, and follows its rules".

The deeper problem: TikTok's verification and enforcement systems are separate questions. The fact that TikTok hasn't removed an account doesn't establish that TikTok has authenticated it. Likewise, an account being unverified doesn't establish that it's fake.

An account can accumulate millions of followers while still being impersonating, unofficial, fan-run, or simply ambiguously affiliated.
